About the Speaker: Kay Rowntree is the owner of the industrial hygiene consulting firm Industrial Hygiene Sciences, LLC in Waterford, Wisconsin. She has over 42 years of experience in the field of industrial hygiene, conducting air and noise exposure assessments, helping employers comply with OSHA regulations and preparing Safety Data Sheets. Prior to starting her consulting practice, she worked for a workers compensation carrier for about 14 years and the State of Wisconsin Health Department for about 5 years. She is certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene in comprehensive practice. She holds a B.S. degree in Bacteriology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a M.S. degree in Environmental Health-Industrial Hygiene specialty from the University of Minnesota. For the majority of her career, Ms. Rowntree has focused on doing occupational exposure assessments in foundries, metal fabricators, food processors, agricultural/heavy equipment manufacturers, electrical component manufacturers, machining operations, construction sites, woodworking operations, waste and recycling operations, chemical product manufacturers and blenders, printing operations, paper mills, plastic manufacturers, concrete and stone manufacturers, utilities and municipalities.
